Sorry for the lack of posts.  This is a busy travel season for me.  I’m still trying to figure out how to keep up a daily blog while I’m traveling the globe.

On that note, I’d like to share my favorite commercial at the moment.

I arrive in Finland yesterday.  I skyped my family when I landed and was able to see and talk with my wife and kids.  For any parent that travels, Skype is a huge blessing.  My kids already know how to accept calls from me if Mommy isn’t in the room.

What do you do to stay in touch with your family when you (or they) are away from home?

I never have to trouble for my job, but Skype is great for grandparents. I live in Maryland and my parents live in Indiana. My mom is a principal, so she can't make it out here often, but it makes her day when we call her on skype so she can see her granddaughter.

Before watching the commercial I was a little puzzelled that you would put it in the middle of your post. Of course, now I understand perfectly. Listening to understand the other person, before we respond, is such an important part of true communication. Thankfully God never missunderstands us.

We used voice-only Skype when our daughter was in Germany as an exchange student and it was helpful. I usually communicate by email only since my travels have often been to places without good internet connections.
